A deferred gift can help you balance your financial goals and your charitable interests - all while possibly achieving significant tax benefits. A planned gift, such as a bequest in your will or trust, life insurance designations, or stock donation ensures your support for the children we serve well into the future. You'll do more than help grant wishes, you'll create a legacy that will impact our wish kids for years to come.
To leave a gift to Make-A-Wish® Guam through your will:
- Designate a percentage of your total estate. This is especially useful if you are unsure of the exact value of your estate now or how much you will be able to leave to charity.
- Specify a contingent bequest, which is dependent upon another event, such as your spouse not surviving you.
Use our Gift Illustrator
tool to help determine which planned gift will best meet your financial needs, while making a significant gift to support our future wish kids. (Use the sample bequest language below and please contact your tax advisor to discuss your specific circumstances.)
- Designate that a specific amount be given to charity. You can also specify that a certain item of value, such as an individual retirement account (IRA or an insurance policy) be given.
- Give whatever is left in your estate after loved ones have received their specific bequests. This is called a residuary bequest.
Adding a bequest to your will or living trust can be as simple as adding a single sentence. Here's our preferred bequest language; take this to your attorney to use as a starting point. Contact us if you have any questions!
